Just when I thought I am finally done bitching about the freezing cold, it came back. Fall-like temperatures at the end of May. It´s raining cats and dogs as my UK friends would say. Sigh, at least I can share my personal summer musts on here with you.
Since I got back to a workout regimen I am very dedicated to drink more water throughout the day. I know it should be such a no-brainer but even with the nice water jug I got for my office desk, I simply forget to drink and it remains more than half full when it´s time to call it a day. I realized I am much better at this when I add a little lemon but after a while my taste buds get bored.
There are a lot of great flavoured water recipes but lots of them contain added sugar and others are based on sugary syrup which I am not a fan of. I don´t want to drink my calories.
Then I found Marta´s Blog What Should I Eat For Breakfast Today and her Berry Water got me hooked. You simply need frozen berries of your choice (I like the mixed ones she´s using), sparkling water and agave nectar for sweetness but that´s optional. If you have enough time on your hands, let the mixture sit for a while, so the berries´ sweetness will kick in and you don´t need to add any sugar. Yay!
Easy peasy and all natural! I am just enjoying a glass as I type this and let me tell you it´s also wonderful if you add plain water instead of sparkling one – I try to keep sparkling water to a minimum as my belly can´t tolerate too much of it.
I am also thinking about creating a sugar-free version of this Apricot Soda with Mint and Honey but for now I am more than happy with my berries.
